Considering Newcon Rangefinder for Hunting and Other Purposes

Newcon Rangefinder: Stepping the rangefinding game up

Newcon is widely recognized as one of the top-rated brands most especially in manufacturing rangefinders that are tough and efficient enough to get various professional jobs done. From hunting and camping to search and rescue operations, surveilance , and other tactical purposes, there is always a newcon rangefinder that perfectly fits the bill.

Newcon Optik offers a wide array of products, but one that is worth tackling would be the Newcon Optik LRM 1800s. It is a monocular laser rangefinder that claims to be very accurate, steady and fast, and is one of the best in the market for laser rangefinders.

Let’s put this to the test as we discuss more of  Newcon Optik LRM 1800s’ best qualities, a complete set of its features, and its pros and cons. Keep on reading if you’d like to know more about this.

Newcon Optik is known for manufacturing rangefinders with special features that allow users to go way beyond typical rangefinding purposes. They make rangefinders that are greatly helpful for specific tasks like surveilance, and search and rescue operations. To be greatly effective, it needs to quality attributes that go beyond the normal range in laser rangefinders.

New Optik LRM 1800s has a built-in speed detector. Aside from finding the distance of an object, it could also calculate its speed. It is equipped with excellent optics at 7x magnification that could spot objects up to 1800 meters away with great accuracy and speed. Aside from its long distance rangefinding abilities, it could also work on practically any weather condition. This Newcon rangefinder is definitely strong both on the inside and outside.

Complete set of Features

  • This Newcon rangefinder is enclosed in a strudy water-resistant housing with a rubber armour and could withstand temperatures between -13 to 122°F or -25 to 50°C. The rangefinder itself measures 5 x 5 x 2.4″ or 13 x 12.5 x 6 cm and weighs 445 grams.
  • It has a fully multicoated optics with 7x magnification and 25 mm objective. It is equipped with an eye-safe 905 nm class infrared laser and a three channel rangefinder system.
  • It is very easy to use with its 10 measurement memory recall and in-view LCD display with system icons. As it finds distances, it could display speed and distance in the metric and  English measurement system.  The display further shows other functional details, such as battery level and measurement reliability indicators. A scan mode is also availabel for those who continuously want to rangefind. It is operated by 9V batteries and has a ¼” tripod mounting thread for thise that make use of tripod for stronger stability.
  • In terms of accuracy, it claims to have a speed detector with • ±1.24 mph (2 km/h) accuracy and a 1m accuracy for distance. It has an 8° field of view and a 56° apparent viewing angle. All in all, it’s a high-performance laser rangefinder and is perfect for those who are looking for a rangefinder of top quality, most especially for hunting and other tactical purposes.

One of the most undeniable advantages to this rangefinder is its price. For its range and features, its price is on the more affordable side of the spectrum. Some may say that it’s too good to be true, but for the price and specs, this is really worth trying.

It also offers a wide distance range that make others doubt. Some may think that this couldn’t possibly go beyond 500 meters, but the key to maximizing the wide distance range that this offers is knowing how to carefully spot your target with the laser. Once done, this is a stable, accurate, fast, and reliable rangefinder for most tasks that one could think of.

This rangefinder however, is found to be bigger and larger than its pricier counterparts. One may not exactly call it handy, but personally, the extra weight is welcome in exchange for its great performance.

In a nutshell,

We may say that this particular rangefinder from Newcon is definitely a must-try! That’s especially if you need a rangefinder with the capacity to measure long distances and the target’s speed. This is especially worth every cent for pros in rangefinding, but is also a good investment for beginners who want to start big instead of buying better rangefinders as they progress in their skills.

Review summery

I bought this rangefinder more than a year ago. It wasn’t a last minute or spur-of-the-moment purchase, but I needed an immediate replacement when my Leica dropped two floors down from our house and was understandably, broken.

I didn’t think that it was practical to buy another high end rangefinder on such a whim, but I had an upcoming tournament in about a week so I had to buy a new one nevertheless.

At first, I considered buying a used high-end rangefinder, but I took the chance to explore the online market and see if there are cheaper ones that may be worth trying.

It was one of the best decisions I’ve made, I would say."

Details about the TecTecTec VPRO V500 Golf Rangefinder

A year and a half from that moment, I’m still using it now and I’ve felt nothing short of pleased about this device. Here are my thoughts on TecTecTec VPRO500 after using it for more than a year. I would say that the experience with it was smooth and easy, and I’d like to share my experience about it.

Even though a TecTecTec VPRO500 Golf Rangfinder is not a high-end rangefinder, it stills provides basic benefits for your need:

  • Practical - It possesses good functions just as others, but also offers you ease of supply.
  • User friendly - Its mechanic and display are simple to use.
  • Accuracy - the most important property of a rangefinder, and this one meets the demand, perfectly.

This laser rangefinder could measure up to 540 years in its continuous scan mode. It has a pinsensor technology and a water-resistant body. It provides fast measurement with 1 yard accuracy, which can provide accurate measurements even for overlapping subjects like golf flags, hazards, and woody areas.

The lens display is very clear with multilayered optics and data that is easy to read. The lens could display distance and a battery meter and could also show continuous measurement mode.

It is highly portable and light with a weight of 185grams and measures 104 x 72 x 41 mm. The water resistant body makes it adapted to hunting, golfing, or even surveying. This comes with a matching case and lanyard for ease of use, a battery strap, and a microfiber cleaning cloth.

This is one of the best decisions of his.

How about you?

This rangefinder has an advanced laser rangefinder system that could provide accurate measurements of up to 500meters rapidly. It provides sharp and clear images under varied conditions and also be used as a high-quality monocular. It comes with 6x magnification and as said, a 1 yard accuracy.

The fingertip operation and through-the-lens display makes usage easy and smooth.

It is mostly used for golfing. Better shot selection could help in improving game performance. However, its weather-proof design also makes it adaptable to other tasks like surveying and hunting.

This rangefinder really offers great value for its price. It’s a great product, let me start with that. It’s one of the most practical options in the rangefinder market.

It could compete with rangefinders that are twice its price."

The battery is a CR2 cell non-rechargeable battery that is common enough to be purchased anywhere. Depending on extent of use, it could last for almost a year. I don’t commonly use it, but at about twice a week, it lasted for almost a year.

It is easy to operate and light. The grip on my hand is also perfect and comfortable. It’s a risk to take for most, especially if you’re used to using high-end rangefinders, but I would say that the risk that I took was worth taking.

It reads accurately, from most of my experience, and it has no problems with closing in on a pin with the pin-finding mode. I haven’t tried this rangefinder for hunting, so that might be worth considering, if you’re a hunter and you’re reading this. But so far, it was worked beyond fine for my golfing endeavors.

The data is also easy to read on the lens. It doesn’t hurt the eyes or is blurred in any way. It doesn’t have Bushnell’s “jolt” technology and other technologies that brands have, but it’s accurate and durable! I am waiting to be amazed on how long this could last in my possession.

For the price this really feels superior but it mostly looks plain and bland in pure black. I think with half the price of high-end rangefinders, I’m happy that I get most of the practical purposes that I need it for.

So far, I have not much to say on the disadvantages because for the money I paid, this even exceeds my expectations."

I am sort of expecting though if it TecTecTec could come up with more rangefinding technologies and accessories, or other better features that could further step the game up.

My Review Of “Founders Club Golf Laser Range Finder with Slope Compensation”

Review Summary

I would say that one of the biggest highlights of this rangefinder for me is its durable built. It is water, dust, and even impact proof. I’m not the most careful person in the world, and that in itself says a lot about a device for me.

I’m a new golfer and I bought my Founders Club Gold Rangefinder almost a year ago. This really offers great value for the price. I’m new to golfing and I would say that I was really hesitant on making investments on it before. It’s a good thing that I came across this rangefinder and later on decided to push through and give gold a try. By far I am very much enjoying golf now, and I have zero regrets in this purchase.

I would say that one of the biggest highlights of this rangefinder for me is its durable built. It is water, dust, and even impact proof. I’m not the most careful person in the world, and that in itself says a lot about a device for me.

It’s a pretty simple device that is designed specifically for golfing, so if you are considering buying this but you think that you would be heavily relying on lots of features, I wouldn’t recommend this. If you’re all for functionality and value like me though, this one is really worth reading and researching more on.

I would first be describing this device’s specs. If you want to know more about my experience and thoughts on this, kindly read on to the end of this review. I hope this helps!

This rangefinder has a pin seeking function that locks in once it finds a flag for accurate distance calculations to the hole. Its slope function also provides data on corrected distance and elevation, depending on the slope.

Its optics ranges from 5 to 450 yards and has 6x magnification. It is fully waterproof too with a carry case strap, battery, and lens cloth in the package. It is lightweight and easy to grip.

Founders Club rangefinder is perfect for the golfer who only likes to have the highest quality equipment in their golf bag.

What I like about this product is it is really compact and light. It’s easy to handle, and the one button operation really makes everything simple. I could also easily attach the device in my pocket, or have it strapped securely on my belt.

Its durable and weather proof features also make me relaxed even when it’s raining outside. So far I haven’t encountered any problems with it yet.

Another thing that I like about this rangefinder, which may be a drawback for others, is its very easy to use and simple features. It’s specifically designed to be a simple companion in golfing. It has everything that I need; slope calculations and pin seeking features, but for a better price, since it doesn’t have all the features that I don’t need in other devices.

Like I said, it’s also weather proof and created to be durable, which I think really makes it a wise buy.

Although I am mostly contented with this purchase of mine, I would say that this rangefinder is quite slow in spotting the flag at times. But for the price that I got it for, I don’t think I’ll be complaining. So far it has served its purpose well, and has allowed me to practice a luxurious sport on a budget.

I might consider getting a new one though if I decide to join tournaments.

Best Review of Bushnell Tour X Rangefinder

Brief Introduction To My Review

I am a new golfer, but I’ve recently been very fond of it. At first, it started as simply going out with my friends to the golf course and trying out different obstacles at a time, just for leisure. After a few months, I bought my own equipment and started playing on my own. It’s fun. Golf has been my comfort zone ever since.

However, being the newbie that I am, I am very reliant on slope calculations. I first purchased a rangefinder with slope-calculating features. Eventually, my friends had encouraged me to start joining tournaments. This was a good idea, especially for my competitive spirit. This is also when I purchased my Bushnell Tour X Rangefinder. I’ve only used it for barely 3 months and 1 tournament now.

Bushnell Tour X Rangefinder

I’d like to share my thoughts on it. To start off, I regret that I had not bought it earlier. I think it’s a waste of money that I have such a multi-purpose rangefinder, and another one specialized in working with slopes. Since I only use it for golfing and I started joining tournaments now, I rarely have the chance to use my older rangefinder.

I’d like to share more of my thoughts on this device with you on the following paragraphs. But before that, let me give you a summary of the features that this device boasts of.

What are the Benefits?

This rangefinder’s slope features could be turned on and off, depending on your purpose. It’s legal for tournaments, but could also be used for practicing slope estimation during times that one isn’t playing in the field. It also boasts of dual display technology that allows the user to switch between bright red display for low-light environments and black display for bright daylight use. This has a pinseeker equipped with JOLT technology that gives notifications once it focuses on a flag. It also gives faster and more accurate yardages with its 2nd generation ESP and 6x magnification that could range between 5 and 1,300 yards.

How’s about its Features?

This rangefinder has 1.5 x 4 x3 in dimensions and weighs around 8 ounces. It is powered by a 3-volt Lithium CR-2, and offers extra-long eye relief with its fully multi-coated lens, 16mm exit pupil, and 393ft field of view.

As already mentioned, it is fully equipped with Dual Display Technology, pinseeker, and JOLT Technology that allows comfort, accurate, and fast calculations for the user.

Lastly, its slope calculating features can be turned on and off depending on the user’s needs. This is especially useful for tournaments and practicing, as you don’t need another rangefinder for practicing with slopes and a separate one for tournaments. This totally kills two birds with one stone.

This rangefinder is light, accurate, and fast. It has a good size that fits my hands perfectly, and a hand clasp that makes handling it easy. Battery life is good, and could last for about 10-12 rounds on me.

The highlight of this rangefinder is it is equipped with various types of technology that make rangefinding easier. It isn’t hard to manipulate and could be good for almost all purposes that I could use a rangefinder for.

Bushnell Tour X Rangefinder

Since this is especially for golfing, what I like most about this is its slope technology that could be turned on and off. That’s a big plus, especially since most people before have to have two sets of rangefinders; one for slope calculating and one especially for tournaments. It might seem pricey, but considering its versatility, if you’re one who would be able to maximize such features, it’s a really good buy.

It has a lot of features. For example, it could change the display from red to black depending on the ligh conditions. Also, the red plate gives two figures at the same time; the vertical slope and the yardage adjusted. Ideally, it also is good for my shaky hands. It isn’t hard to focus on the flag once it finds it. It works fast on the yardage results too!

Generally, I regard this product as a good purchase. Except for a few issues.

It doesn’t have an eyecup, and occasionally, it’s hard to see through the eye piece. Also, the focus knob easily twists out of focus. It’s also hard to focus with the red display too.

Lastly, I think it’s pricey. Luckily, I am very happy, as I could make use of all its features as I like joining golf tournaments. Otherwise, this won’t be such a good buy.

A Master in Range Finding – Leica Rangemaster CRF 1600-B 40534 Review

I’ve had my fair share of rangefinders. It started with my need for one about 5 years ago in my need to for surveying on my forestry classes. Right now I mainly use it for surveying, but occasionally use it for other things that could be equally important, like measuring the distance to my target for long-distance target shooting, or other trivial things, since I’ve developed an interest in knowing the distance between two points.

I’ve bought a Leica 1600 rangefinder upon seeing it as the model that one of my classmates in the university has been using for his current job. We had a collaboration for one project about 10months ago and I was really impressed with his rangefinder’s quality. To be specific, I was first impressed by how accurate, fast, and consistent his rangefinder was. Afterwards, I noticed how durable the materials used were.

Leica Rangemaster CRF 1600-B 40534

Let me discuss its features and my experience; both good and bad, and hopefully this is helpful.

Design-wise Leica 1600 rangefinder is lightweight, compact, and sturdy weighing roughly 8 ounces at 4.5inches. This rangefinder could stick to its owner through thick and thin with its weatherproof design. Waterproof outside and fog-proof inside. It has optics covered with rings that stop moisture, dust, and debris from getting inside the rangefinder, the glass has AquaDura® Lens Coating too. It’s even filled with nitrogen to avoid fogging inside the device. I really do think that if you’re looking for a rangefinder that could stay with you in good-as-new quality for a long-time, this is a very good choice.

Other than that, the shape is easy to hold and the exteriors are made of aluminium and carbon-fiber. The eyecup is adjustable, as it rolls up and down for people who wear glasses.

As for capacity, this device is capable of up to 7x magnification with its 24mm objective lens. It has a very wide range of 10-1600 yards, a 1000yards field of view, 15mm eye relief, and 30 feet close focus. It has the ability to generate and integrate data on temperature, pressure, and angle of declination. All of which add ease and versatility for the users specific and general range finding needs.

The ups

This rangefinder really delivers top-notch performance. Let me summarize my experience with it as follows.

  • Speed

This rangefinder provides fast results. All I do is basically point and click, and voila, I have the measurements almost instantly.

  • Accuracy, consistency, and performance on low-light conditions

Surveying in forests, I often need to deal with trees and different shades of green. Most times, if the rangefinder’s sensitivity to light isn’t good enough, it’s hard to pick out one tree separately from all the others. But Leica’s lenses and sensitivity to light is really superb. With more light, more color shows, and it isn’t hard to pick out one target from a crowded background and range it. Interestingly, what I really like most about this is no matter the distance, , it never fails and ranges accurately. Results rarely vary, and I never encountered problems with ranging a small or big target. Even at its maximum zoom at 7x, the focus and clarity is surprising. I really would say that performance-wise, this device is superior.

As for my interest in target-shooting, I really like that this product can give a horizontal distance regardless of the inclination. It’s really useful especially for specially designed long-distance target shooting venues.

  • Multipurpose

I often stay outdoors and this rangefinder’s multi-functionality is mostly entertaining, but at the same time useful. It has a built-inthermometer that measures temperature, and even pressure.

Some downsides

I would say that I only felt regret one time, and it was during the first few weeks. I used to regret spending over 800USD for this. It’s highly functional and delivers a high performance, it seems pricey on the first few days, but I know this one would last long so no regrets!

This also doesn’t give an EHR the way most people prefer. That’s would have been more convenient but it doesn’t really matter much to me so overall I am very happy with my purchase wand would definitely recommend this to a consumer looking for a top-notch rangefinder.
